The Cancun Bird is a minor supporting character in Legend of Mana and a recurring character in the Mana series.
Background[edit]
350 years of age, the Cancun Bird is a mysterious bird behemoth which resides on the peaks of Gato Grottoes. With a body that measures up to 22 metres in length, the Cancun Bird is able to carry up to three individuals on its back, a fact that sees it being used as the protagonist's main form of transport to and from Lucemia in Heaven's Gate.

The Flame of Hope[edit]
A sproutling complains of his aching belly to a nun in Gato Grottoes. It looks like he's been infected with a Popo Bug parasite. The nun wants to take it and sell it for a pretty penny. However, each time the lady tries to get her hands on the bug, the leafy guy jitters, stating it hurts, and runs away. In his distress, the sproutling bumped into a praying nun in the Temple of Healing, twisting her ankle. During the Jewel Hunter investigation, the protagonist retrace the steps left by the sproutling accompanying Sandra who disguised as a nun by spotting the leaves left on the ground. The bug is finally extracted by the Jewel Hunter near the Cancun Bird's nest, moments before her escape with the Jumi core of Ruby.
Niccolo Calls It Quits?[edit]
Niccolo finds three yambalooriben leaves in the Cancun Bird's nest to cure Madame Kristie from her illness and swindle her in the process by taking her whole fortune.
Heaven's Gate[edit]
The main character and his ally (either Daena or Escad) climb atop the large bird to reach the legendary Wyrm of Light in the climax of the Faeries's Arc to stop Irwin from destroying the world.
Circle of Mana[edit]
Cancun Bird makes a cameo appearance in the online game, along with several other characters from the Mana series. She appears in 1 set of cards.
