Trials of Mana[edit]
Duran's scenario[edit]
In his opening gambit After Duran's initial defeat against the Crimson Wizard, Duran finds himself moping over his predicament at the local pub. Aften being scolded by his younger sister Wendy, the young warrior wanders town in search of some distraction. Upon hearing that the local fortune-teller could help him take revenge on its adversary becoming stronger, he promptly meet her to see if she could help him. After realizing that the fortune-teller could only see into his future he rudely stops her by stating that all he believes in is strength. Taken aback by its manners, the fortune-teller berates Duran but still tells him that in order to become more powerful, he could seek guidance from the Priest of Light by teaching him how to switch class. She then proceed to ask Duran to leave for the time being. Duran then sets off for its journey to Wendel and promptly leaves his hometown after saying goodbye to both his aunt Stella and the Hero King himself.
In the HD remake, should the player visit the fortune-teller in Chapter I, she will attempt to read her fortune but will panic at the sight of Faerie all will close shop, nabbing the player the Banish Chain Ability.
Angela's scenario[edit]
After being rescued from persumed hypothermia by Chirry in Frostbite Fields and being brought in the town of Alrant, Angela is still in shock from her mother's decision to execute her in exchange from her residual power that could open the portal to the Sanctuary of Mana. Hapless and with a heavy heart, she wanders into the town in search of a new objective. Upon visiting the local inn, she notices a fortune-teller discussing with a man in the lobby. Angela then asks the old woman guidance which she replies that when people lose any spark of hope and fall into the deepest despair, they should seek advice from His Eminence the Priest of Light in Wendel. Its former disgruntled client then claims the old fraud told her the same thing when he asked his soon-to-be-born baby's sex. Bemused but intrigued by the fortune-teller's statement, Angela then decides to hop on the last ferry to seek an audience with the infamous holy figure.
