The Cannon Man is a supporting character in Secret of Mana.

Background

The Cannon Man appears to be a title shared by multiple lookalikes who, according to one girl in Kippo Village, are brothers of her husband. They are operating a Cannon Travel Center all around the world.

History

Secret of Mana

Randi can first meet with a Cannon Man as soon as heading out of Potos Village. Gemma paid his fare to the Water Palace so Randi can hop in the Cannon right away instead of walking. Otherwise the heroes can use the service in exchange of a small fee.

Below is a list of all the Cannon Travel Centers:

Circle of Mana

The Cannon Man makes a cameo appearance alongside many other characters from the Mana series.

Echoes of Mana

While not appearing in the game, Popoi makes a reference to the Cannon travel service after landing on the protagonist during Season 1 Chapter 2 Verdigourd: The Mana Sword Song.

General information

Physical appearance

In the original SNES game, the Cannon Man is depicted as a stout bespectacled man with messy brown hair sporting green overalls.

In the HD remake, he is shown as having a much more muscular build and wearing burgundy overalls with brown gloves.

Personality

Despite being a minor character, the Cannon Man and his multiple clones are shown to share a deep enthusiasm and jolly personality. They are always welcoming of the party passing by, but are adamant about not letting ghosts use their cannon.

Trivia

The Cannon Man's original design was probably inspired by Dr. Bowow in Final Fantasy Adventure, as they are both shown as short burly men with wild dark hair.
