This article is about Chimera from Final Fantasy Adventures & Adventures of Mana. For the general species, see Chimera.

The Chimera is a boss in Final Fantasy Adventure and its direct remake Adventures of Mana.

Overview[edit]

The Chimera waits next to the captured maiden’s chamber in Glaive Castle. It immediately attacks the hero on arrival and will prove itself to be a worthy opponent in the end.

In the original Game Boy version, the Chimera moves in a W pattern on the upper side of the screen and attacks the protagonist by sending two fireballs in two straight lines. After a while, it zigzags all over the screen to hit the hero, then resumes its initial pattern.

In Adventures of Mana, the Chimera follows Sumo around, sometimes stopping to release four fire balls and launching them one at a time. Each fireball makes a larger explosion when hitting the ground. It can also spew up to six tiny flames in succession. Finally, the beast can dash forward and try to hit the hero. Defeating it will reward the player with the Chimera Killer achievement.

Description
This bizarre creature is a mixture of beasts: it has the head of a lion, it has the head of a goat coming out of its shoulder, and it has the wings of a dragon. It can spew fire from its mouth.
