Background
Larc is a Beast Warrior and brother to Sierra. Following his death, he became Drakonis's dragoon in the Underworld and was tasked to find a suitable warrior to enact his master's plan of destroying his fellow Dragons of Knowledge and claim back all the power of Mana to himself, resurrecting him in the process. Larc accepted Drakonis's agreement to combat along his side once they get reborn, but was afflicted with Drakonis's blood curse in the meantime, forcing the Beast Warrior to remain in the Underworld for a thousand years. Unbeknownst to his master, Larc secretly sought to claim Mana power to himself and defeat Drakonis when time is ripe.

The Fallen Emperor
Larc makes his entrance before the protagonist at the Macabre Tombstone, gateway to the Underworld. He claims he shall test the main character's strength, and sends them into the depths. When they wake up, he introduces himself as Larc, Dragoon of Drakonis, adding he will tell more should they come with him at the bottommost place of the Underworld. After wandering for a while, he tells the hero to go see Olbohn, custodian of departed souls if they wish to proceed further. The two of them visit his office nearby, and the Wisdom immediately complains about Larc bringing uninvited guests to the Underworld. Larc replies he merely follows his master's orders. Olbohn comments of the main character's strength and wonders if Drakonis's evil plans will come to fruition this time. Larc replies by asking the Wisdom to give the Baptism of Flame to the hero, to which he grants. A Shadole is summoned to guide the two adventurers and they proceed to go to the Baptismal Chamber.

After getting through the ceremony, Larc asks the protagonist if they're ready, and they venture to the Shrine of the Silent Faces. There, they face off against a powerful enemy which they eventually defeat together. Larc comments on his master being pleased by this feat, and the both of them go into the Pulpit of Eternal Flame. The Dragoon kneels before his master Drakonis who congratulates his servant for finding a suitable mercenary. The lord of flames introduces himself to the hero, requesting that they restore his magical powers stolen by three dragons. He further explains he was the Emperor of the Dragons before being cast into the Underworld by three of his jealous kin. Drakonis wishes now to enact his revenge by proxy with the help of the protagonist. The hero has no choice but to comply since they are slowly being transformed into nothingness by wandering into the Underworld. Should they respect their end of the deal, Drakonis will return them to their original form. As the main character accepts, they are sent back to the overworld, with Larc gifting them a Skull Lantern as thanks.

The Guardian of Winds
The hero's first task is to slay Akravator, The Guardian of Winds, from the Norn Peaks. They tag with Larc waiting at the Macabre Tombstone and head to the mountains, where they are immediately ambushed by a beast warrior named Sierra. She confronts Larc by questioning his motives, claiming he's being used by Drakonis and leaves thereafter. The team presses on, and quickly come across the Wind Callers settlement at the foot of the mountain. The faithful dragoons of Akravator block to path to their leader, but Larc scares them away with his teleporting technique. The Beast Warrior and the protagonist defeat the Wind Callers one by one. They confront the blue dragon at the mountain peak as Larc declares he has come to rob him of his Mana. Akravator tries to reason with him just as Sierra did earlier, but Larc doesn't flinch. A difficult battle ensues, with the Guardian of Winds falling in the end. The two warriors walk toward the Mana Stone, then the dragoon gives the main character a Dragonbone as a reward while he absorbs the energy from the stone. A weakened Wind Caller crawls to his side, pleading for an answer to his foolish act, but the beast warrior remains still.

The Ghost of Nemesis
The protagonist partners up with Larc and venture into The Bone Fortress. The Beast Warrior quickly sense something's amiss in the Fortress Town next to the main structure. students from the Academy of Magic in Geo tell the adventurers they are on a field trip to collect local herbs and minerals as reagents for their potions as the herbs on a hill nearby as said to cure any sort of ailment. However, a weird voice has been coming from that bony castle as of late, some people claiming an ancient Dragon of Knowledge hunts that structure. A loud howl is suddenly heard across the village, spooking everyone. Larc and the main character move to the Cranium Gate to investigate, but they are stopped by a strange black skeletal warrior in their path. The Beast Warrior orders him to let them through as they need to meet with Jajara, but the undead warrior draws his sword in defiance, telling they will send them back to the Underworld. The two teams fight and the skeletal warrior is defeated.

The victorious party enters the fortress, but the main protagonist falls into a trap, leaving him separated from Larc. They wake up several floors below, and make their way up until they cross path with Sierra again. She asks the hero why they're siding with Drakonis as they must realize he wants to kill the Dragons of Knowledge. She then draws her knives shouting she intends to slay them for the honor of Jajara. Despite her speed and deadly strikes, she kneels down after a while, swearing she will defeat them one day before escaping. Larc is found nearby lying on the ground in a small room. He regrets falling for such an obvious trap earlier and joins the team again. Together, they head back to the entrance and unlock the door in the main lobby. They meet with none other than the Deathbringer on the ribcage hallway, who is surprised learning that Larc is serving Drakonis now after 100 years. The adventurers defeat him, disappearing after praising Larc for being the one.

The Beast Warrior and the main character enters the Throne of Corpses, where Larc sense the power of Mana nearby. The skeletal dragon Jajara emerges from thin air, displeased to see Drakonis every hungry for power and claiming all this to be pure foolishness. He battles against the two mercenaries, but they prove to be too powerful for him. With his dying breath, he curses Drakonis's ambitions, and disappears into the Underworld. Larc opens the room behind, revealing the Mana Stone. He tells the hero this must be the reason the herbs nearby are imbued with great power. Larc then collects the power from the stone and gives his partner the Green Cane, revealing there is only one more Mana Stone to gather.

The Dragon Princess
With both Mana crystals from Akravator and Jajara extracted, Larc and the protagonist head for their final destination, The White Forest. The Beast Warrior explains this is the territory of the White Dragon Vadise, although there is something in this woods that thows off his senses. He tells the protagonist to take the lead while he follows Vadise's scent. They arrive at the Ancient Tree, where Sierra teleports herself before them. Larc asks her where is Vadise, but she replies he is blind to the truth that Drakonis is harness all Mana power to himself. Larc replies that he is aware of that, which makes Sierra even more desperate and upset. The dragoon of Drakonis claims he will ascend from the Underworld along with his master and she should not interfere with his goals. Sierra reveals she is a dragoon too to Vadise and she is tasked to maintain law and order on this land. Both draw their weapons and Sierra claims she won't allow anyone to disrupt the peace she's trying to protect, not even her own brother. The White Dragon Vadise appears next to her, pleading her to stop. She states that siblings should not shed the blood they share. Larc orders the dragon to tell him where the Mana Stone is located if they wish for their lives to be spared. Vadise tells him the precious crystal is straight down a nearby path, and the Beast Warrior runs toward it. Now alone, Larc absorbs the power form the Mana Stone, but reveals he's got a secret plan. Back to the Ancient Tree, Larc gives the player a lunk of Lorimar Iron, and runs off alone to back to his master in the Underworld.

The Crimson Dragon
Sierra has partnered with the protagonist to stop Drakonis and her brother from destroying the world. They reach the Pulpit of Eternal Flame where Larc is seen waiting for her. Drakonis appears in front of him and praises him for accomplishing his wish of returning to his original form and leave this infernal prison. Sierra tries to stop them, reiterating Larc is being used by his master. The Beast Warrior acknowledges this fact, and reveals he's about to put a stop to him by honoring the agreement he made with Drakonis prior all this came to fruition. He tells his master they will fight and only the victor will come back to the surface. Drakonis honors this claim by turning him into a monstrous mindless centaur. He then explains he's giving Larc his reward for serving him so admirably, as he always wanted to be as strong as his sister. The Crimson Dragon teleports away, but not before giving his dragoon one last order to prove his might by defeating his sister. With the help of the protagonist, Sierra mortally wound her possessed brother, snapping some sense back into his mind. He reveals he knew his actions were wrong from the start, but he wanted to return to the world of the living to see her again. He vanishes in Sierra's arms, who swears she will avenge his death.

A sudden tremor is felt from all over the Underworld, knocking the main character and Vadise's dragoon away. The world map shows the Underworld being replaced by Drakonis's Castle. With the help of Vadise's spirit, Sierra and the hero climb the infernal fortress all the way to Drakonis. Sierra orders him to return the three dragons' and her brother's souls to her, but the Crimson Dragon tranforms into his true draconic self. This proves to be a difficult battle, but the two adventurers eventually manage to defeat the evil emperor. Larc's body is seen lying in the throne room as the whole fortress is about to collapse, reverting back to the Underworld. Sierra is seen next to her ailing brother near the Macabre Tombstone, but Vadise forbids her to touch him, for she could be inflicted with Drakonis's blood curse. Larc stands up, confesses he must remain in the Underworld along with the Crimson Dragon for a thousand years, as it is the law of the dragoons. Sierra tries to prevent her brother from returning down there, but Larc replies it's his burden and his alone. He adds he will not wait for a thousand years to break the curse and is grown accostumed to the Underworld. Sierra agrees to pay him regular visits and both part ways for now.

He was also depicted in one memory gem:

* Colliding Convictions

Larc is seen in the Underworld in Episode 3 of Season 2: Soulpepper: Wandering Bonds, where he is mistaken for Blainchet from afar by Duffle. He rudely tells the party to leave this place before wandering further into the underground complex. The Harvester and their crew decide to follow the Beast Warrior all the way to the Macabre Tombstone, only to find him talking to a female Beastfolk. He wonders why she came here, to which she states she was saved by the dragon princess Vadise and she now serves her as her dragoon. Should Drakonis becomes a nuisance in the Underworld, she would not hesitate to draw her blades. She then asks why her brother is able to crawl out of hell with such ease. He answers that now he's Drakonis's dragoon, he can now leave the Underworld for a short while. Shoked by this revelation, Sierra asks why he would stoop that low by teaming with such an evil being, but Larc responds he wishes to be more powerful in the process. Both beastfolk are about to fight, but Blainchet step between them to cut it off. The wolffolk scolds both of them for starting an argument, but Larc and Sierra harshly tell him to step aside for this is none of his concern. Larc asks his sister to leave now as she'll by a liability in the Underworld and rushes back inside, quickly followed by his sister.

The party follows them all the way back to the depth of hell. Blainchet tries to reason with Sierra and Larc, but both won't hear any of his pleas. Larc attacks the wolfkin in retaliation and the party is forced to intervene. Sierra urges her brother to tell him more about his relationship with Drakonis, but he sneakily strikes her with his blade, critically wounding her in the process. He apologises to her and starts carrying her body back to the surface. Blainchet try to asks him why he wouldn't speak to her instead of fighting, but the Beast Warrior replies that what is is about to do is unforgivable and she won't accept his reasoning. The wolfkin adds he should at least try explain it until she understands, but Larc calls him a hopeless fool and storms off.

Portrayed as an individual who is rash and impetuous, Larc is known to be rather reckless in the decisions that he makes. Most telling of this fact is through his decision to serve as Drakonis' dragoon; despite being aware of Drakonis' inclination to be a crafty, cunning person of dubious, questionable leanings, he chooses to serve the man nevertheless, under the pretext of being granted the power to escape the shackles of the Underworld. It is possible that this aspect of Larc's character could have been the principal cause of his death prior to the events of Legend of Mana.
It is through the same decision that Larc makes that one can discern that he is in fact a family-oriented person, one who deeply values kinship. His defeat in The Crimson Dragon reveals this, as just before he breathes his last, he admits that his main intention of serving Drakonis is all so that he can be granted a second lease at life to be reunited with his sister Sierra.

The Fallen Emperor[edit]

Larc makes his entrance before the protagonist at the Macabre Tombstone, gateway to the Underworld. He claims he shall test the main character's strength, and sends them into the depths. When they wake up, he introduces himself as Larc, Dragoon of Drakonis, adding he will tell more should they come with him at the bottommost place of the Underworld. Should they respect their end of the deal, Drakonis will return them to their original form. As the main character accepts, they are sent back to the overworld, with Larc gifting them a Skull Lantern as thanks.

The Guardian of Winds[edit]

The two warriors walk toward the Mana Stone, then the dragoon gives the main character a Dragonbone as a reward while he absorbs the energy from the stone. A weakened Wind Caller crawls to his side, pleading for an answer to his foolish act, but the beast warrior remains still.

The Ghost of Nemesis[edit]

The protagonist partners up with Larc and venture into The Bone Fortress. The Beast Warrior quickly sense something's amiss in the Fortress Town next to the main structure. students from the Academy of Magic in Geo tell the adventurers they are on a field trip to collect local herbs and minerals as reagents for their potions as the herbs on a hill nearby as said to cure any sort of ailment.

The Dragon Princess[edit]

The Crimson Dragon[edit]

Echoes of Mana[edit]

Larc (The Conqueror)

Larc was a character and obtainable unit. He had one known variant:

He was also depicted in one memory gem:

Character Bond Dialogues[edit]

'You know, I feel I can overcome even a thousand-year curse.'

'Once the curse breaks, you ask? I want to see my sister again.'

'I know what I've done was wrong. But I have no regrets.'

'Yeah, Sierra's my sister. Tough I can't say I've been the best brother...'

'The laws of the dragoon must be obeyed. No matter what.'

'The name 'Larc The Conqueror' brings back memories.'

'Come with me to the underworld and... you know what, forget I said anything.'

'I'll lose my edge hanging around a place like this.'

'Have you come to invite me on an adventure?'

'What are you up to today?'

General information[edit]

Physical appearance[edit]

Personality[edit]
