Mana Seeds are spawns of the Mana Tree containing the power to sustain and keep the balance of Mana power throughout the world of Fa'Diel.

Story[edit]

Secret of Mana[edit]

According to the game booklet, long ago, one Mana Seed was placed in each of the eight Mana Palaces, their mere presence enough keeping evil away. Nowadays, evil forces seek to break the seals of each seed to plunge the world into darkness.

Randi first comes in contact with the Mana Seed of the Water Palace, where he learns from Luka that the seed's power can be sealed inside his legendary blade to gain its power anytime he wishes so. She then urges the young lad to visit the eight palaces of the world to gain their power before its too late.

After joining forces with Primm and Popoi, the trio visits the Underground Palace to seal its Mana Seed's power. The sprite tries to interact with the seed to regain some of their memories. They remember that they live in the Upper Land region, prompting the party to make it their next destination.

In the meantime, the Water Seed had been stolen by a gang of thieves who's after their power. Apparently, they have made the Underground Palace their next target. The party stops the hooligans from reaching the next seed and retrieve the Water Seed to its palace.

Near the end of the game, the Empire succeeds in breaking the seal of all eight Mana Seeds, resulting in the rising of the Sunken Continent. Mana Power becomes temporarily unavailable and is depleting at an alarming rate, so much so, that the seal protecting Pure Land hhas started to wane. In the climax of storming the Mana Palace, the Mana Fortress is revived, setting its gaze on destroying the Mana Tree. In its last stand, the holy tree gives the last of it power to the Mana Seed, all synchronizing to the Mana Sword once again for the last confrontation aboard the flying fortress.

Gameplay[edit]

Unsealed Mana Seeds will make the respective palace sprawling with monsters. Once Randi synchronizes the Mana Sword with a seed, the surrounding area will become peaceful. The party will also gain an extra elemental power that furthers Primm and Popoi's magic level by 1.
