Ascend is an important game mechanic in Echoes of Mana.

Overview

An ally can reach it maximum level by fusing with an ally with the same rarity. Doing so will raise their level cap and unlock the equivalent slots on their Mana Board. The unit will need to be at the required level to execute the Ascend function. Said level is matched to their rarity.

Players can also use a Knitwit Icon to ascend an ally. The number of expendable allies or Knitwit Icons to fuse varies according to the ally's rarity to ascend. A sufficient amount of Lucre is also necessary to ascend.

Knitwit Icons cannot be assigned to a party member or be sent into battle. They cannot be unleashed nor awaken as well. They can be upgraded like any other ally by gaining experience. Knitwit Icons require less EXP to level up than allies.

Players cannot ascend a 5★ Ally to 6★, as they need to Awaken them instead.

Ally to Ascend Requirement
2★ Ally to 3★ Two 2★ Allies/Knitwit Icons
3★ Ally to 4★ Three 3★ Allies/Knitwit Icons
4★ Ally to 5★ Four 4★ Allies/Knitwit Icons
