Gear (Echoes of Mana)

From the Wiki of Mana, the Mana encyclopedia
Jump to navigationJump to search

Gear is an important game mechanics in Echoes of Mana. Along with memory gems, they can be equipped to an ally, granting them different stat boosts.

Mechanics[edit]

Overview[edit]

A Valsena Armor at Level 1

Each unit can equip 6 different types of gears, which are also separated into two 3 piece sets. The 3 on the left are for Helm, Armor, and Gloves, while the other 3 are Pendant, Ring, and Boots.

These equipments grant stat boosts to power up allies in the form of Main Stats and Bonus Stats. Lastly, a Set Effect is shared among each set. Each piece of gear can be levelled up to increase their values or gain additional Bonus Stats to further strengthen your Ally.

The six types of gear can be divided into two main groups: armor-type & accessories.

Armor-type gear contains three types of gears:

  • Helm icon EOM artwork.pngHelm, which has HP as its Main Stat.
  • Armor icon EOM artwork.pngArmor, which has CON as its Main Stat.
  • Gloves icon EOM artwork.pngGloves, which has SPR as its Main Stat.

Accessories containts three types of gears whose Main Stat is variable:

  • Pendant icon EOM sprite.pngPendant
  • Ring icon EOM sprite.pngRing
  • Boots icon EOM sprite.pngBoots

An ally can only equip one type of gear at a time.

Similar to memory gems, gears have a rarity ranging from 1 star (★) to 5 stars (★). A 4★ gear can be levelled up to 16 while a 5★ one can go up to level 20.

Where to Obtain[edit]

Gears are obtainable as a drop reward from some quests like the story ones (especially on harder difficulties), but there is also dedicated gear dungeons that drop specific set. Completing these quests uses SP instead of AP.

Players can choose a gear dungeon's difficulty level. The highest difficulty is Lvl 4, with the recommended PWR of 6,000x3. It It is recommended to use SP to unlock more of your Allies' Mana Boards before going for these gear farms since there are a lot of randomness involved.

Upgrading Gears[edit]

A Valsena Armor at level 16

Each gears have individualized Main Stat and some Bonus Stats.

The three pieces of gear on the left (helm, armor, and gloves) will always have the same main stats and fixed values. Helm always has HP, CON for armor, and SPR for gloves. However, the main stats of the three pieces of gear on the right (pendant, ring, and boots) can give different main stats.

Bonus Stats have more options as to what they can give. The amount of Bonus Stats that you get at level 1 is also random, but a piece of gear can only have 4 Bonus Stats.

Each gear is tied to a certain "series" or "set". The example image above shows the Valsena series, and equipping 3 of the same series will give a set effect of STR+18%.

Gears can be levelled up with Altena Alloys by visiting the blacksmith available after clearing Chapter 2 Quest 12. The amount of experience given varies on the alloy's size.

  • Altena Alloy (s) gives 10 EXP
  • Altena Alloy (m) gives 50 EXP
  • Altena Alloy (l) gives 100 EXP

At every 4 levels, the gear will either get an additional Bonus Stat or enhance one of the existing ones.

Pieces of gear have a level cap based on their rarity that cannot be changed. When upgrading a gear, its Main Stat will increase at every level. Every four level up also will grant a randomized stat boost. This means that two pieces of identical gear at level 1 will have completely different stats once maxed out.

What gets upgraded is shown with a star(★), as shown in the example image above. Since the Valsena Armor in this example started with 3 Bonus Stats, increasing it to max (level 16) enhanced 3 random Bonus Stats.

Selling Gears[edit]

The materials to upgrade the gears (Altena Alloys) can be obtained as drop rewards from quests, but can also get them by selling gears.

Players can do this by going to the Blacksmith, either through the Menu or the Home screen, then select "Sell Gear".
