After the seedy performance, the hero overhears the scheming duo rejoicing over his foolishness, but panic as they realize Randi was listening to their ploy. The Dwarf Elder apologizes, telling the child is really a stray sprite who washed up during a recent flood. He thought he could raise money to send them home. The swindlers refund Randi's money before him leaving the premise. Upon exiting the elder's house, the hero is immediately caught up by a quake, sending him in a cave to battle [[Tropicallo (Secret of Mana)|Tropiallo]].
After defeating the monster, the Elder thanks the hero for taking care of the threat, then explains that the sprite developed amnesia from drifting inside [[Gaia's Navel]]. He also mention that Tropicallo unearthed the path to the [[Underground Palace]] which could help the sprite's memory by interacting with its [[Mana Seed]]. In the end, Popoi decides to accompany Randi in their quest to head home safely. The Dwarf Elder mentions that [[Elinee]] the witch sealed the palace with a lava field, therefore Randi and Popoi must go to the [[Witch's Castle]] to ask her to remove the seal. He gives the team the [[Chobin's Bow]] as a parting gift before leading them to the village's entrance.
