Taking their name from the famed hero of medieval legend, Chobin Hoods are novice archers equipped with bows and quivers of arrows. As such, they are good distance attackers. Some species use poison-tipped arrows and magic darts to bombard and hinder their foes.

Chobin Hoods can be viewed as a cross between a fox, a cat, and a rat in its design. Their fur is usually light brown and their snout length varies from game to game. In older installment, they have a rather rodent face complete with bucktooth and whiskers. Their head are covered with a reddish cowl with holes for the ears and they wear a green medieval tunic whose hem reaches the floor. In recent games, they have a white spot on the face and shorter snouts. Their outfit is more detailed, with the tunic being replaced with baggy overalls. They are often depicted wielding bows or whips, but are also capable or throwing darts in some games.

Chobin Hoods are a recurring type of enemy in the Mana series. They first appear in Secret of Mana.
